Morning all, I hope you are all well and having a good morning so far. It’s time for a new challenge over at the PanPastel Challenge Blog the theme this week is Use 2 Of Something and remember you can use any medium on your entries so everyone can join in. As usual we have are fab regular sponsor Your Creativity Store and the prize is a fantastic trial kit of PanPastels and Sofft tools (colours may vary).
Ok so here is what I made (when I thought of this idea I thought it would be a quick and simple project ….. lol I was wrong!)
I envisioned this as a book stand or letter rack whilst I was making it but now that it’s finished I kinda feel like the books spoil it and I would like to have it as a scene and put a little swing in the middle of the tree’s.
Ok so the idea for this came from when I got some new PanPastel colours and to fit them in to the box that I use for my PanPastels I had to remove the wooden dividers that made up different sections and I thought I could make a book stand with them, so here’s what I started with.
I glued the pieces together and then went at it with some paper mache until it looked liked this,
Next I used some acrylic texture paste in a dabbing motion to create slight peaks on the base and give texture to what would be the grass. Once it was dry I coloured it using PanPastel and sprayed with fixer.
It was around this point that I decided that I wanted the tree’s to be 3d which meant that I needed 8 trees that were all the same shape and size so I drew my tree, scanned it in to my computer, made it in to a digi PNG image and printed it out 8 times on to brown embossed leather effect card.
I then cut them all out with scissors.
Next I used Spellbinders Impressabilities in my Grand Calibur to emboss just the tops of the trees with a leaf pattern and added PanPastel colour to them
I then stuck it all together, using wooden clothes pegs to hold it whilst the glue dried. Next I stamped out my little girls using Gorjuss stamps, I coloured these in using Promarkers as I wanted them to stand out from the tree’s and then cut them out. Before sticking the girls in to place I used Flowersoft on the base and around the tree’s and once everything was dry I stuck my girls in to place.
Ok I think that’s everything
I hope you will all come and join in with us at the PanPastel Challenge Blog as we love to see your gorgeous creations, thanks for reading this post and as always I love to read any comments that you have.
