Mystical and Magical card made using my own hand drawn character design

Standard

Hello, here is the card that I have made for the Polka Doodles challenge blog  challenge 43  –  Mystical and Magical,  I have decided to use my own hand drawn character design to make this card as mystical images is  something I enjoy drawing.

To make this card I drew my image and coloured  it with Promarkers and then cut it out using Spellbinders dies  and layered it on to black card cut out using  the same die set. I set aside my topper and took an A3 piece of white  card, scoring it down the center to make an A4 card  base. Next I took a piece of 12″ x 12″ DCWV cardstock from the Once Apon A Time stack, I trimmed the top and edges off to fit within the A4 card base and then before sticking it down I cut along the edges of the bottles jars and books etc at the bottom of the page not cutting underneath only around the side and the top and then stuck it to the card base making sure  that there was no glue on the backs of the bottles etc. Next I  took the main image that I had layered on to black earlier put glue on the back and slid it in to place so that  most of the backing page was behind it but the bottles and books etc went in front of it , and then stuck  a little dab of glue on  the back of the  bottles etc to keep them all in place.

Finally I  embellished with  a bow tied in organza ribbon, a leaf I stamped out, coloured with PanPastel , a flourish cut out using a Tim Holtz die, some little purple ribbon  flowers, a butterfly made from 3 peel offs and a couple of corner peel offs. I also used  white gel pen to draw in the pages of the books.

Thank you for reading this post, I love to hear any comments that you have.

I have always enjoyed arts and crafts of many different kinds and have recently found that card making / paper craft is a real passion for me. I draw / paint alot of my own designs for my cards but also use products from many of the well loved crafty names out there too. I am currently looking for work as an illustrator / craft designer and have now set up a page on this blog called My Artwork Gallery to show some of my work. I love to see your comments on either my artwork or my cards so please feel free to leave any comments you may have and if anyone is interested in any of my artwork please feel free to contact me.
