Happy Halloween card

Standard

Hiya, here is the card that I have made to combine two challenges the first is the Polka Doodles challenge blog week  42 Halloween Giveaways (this card was made using their special Halloween download) and the second is the Sarah Hurley challenge blog  challenge 52 – misting.

To make this card I began with a purple piece of A4 card which I scored down the center to make an A5 card base, I then used a mask by TCW and some green Cosmic Shimmer mist to create the clock faces on the base card, setting  this aside, I then took a green piece of A4 card and repeated the same process with that. Once the green card was dry I cut it in to panels slightly smaller than A5 and stuck inside my card.

Next I printed off the halloween images from the Polka Doodles Challenge blog in different sizes I then coloured in the little witch using promarkers and highlighted the cat with some metallic markers and a white gel pen, then sprayed the image very lightly with the mist and then cut them out using x cut nesting dies and layered them on to a slightly larger scalloped circle in black card (also cut out using X cut nesting dies). Once I had layered them up I stuck them in to place on the card and turned my attention to cutting out the bats, gravestones and greeting, I purposefully did not cut away all of the white card as I wanted to bring more green in to the front of the card so I chose the areas I wanted to keep and cut away the rest and then coloured them with a moss green promarker. Once they were all cut out I shaped the card  by curving  it using my finger tip and stuck them in to place using silicone glue.

Finally I tied a little bow in some green ribbon and stuck  that at an angle underneath the main image and then stuck one of the left over bats to the inside of the card.

Thank you for reading this  post as always I  love to hear any comments you may  have.

About craftymonster81

I have always enjoyed arts and crafts of many different kinds and have recently found that card making / paper craft is a real passion for me. I draw / paint alot of my own designs for my cards but also use products from many of the well loved crafty names out there too. I am currently looking for work as an illustrator / craft designer and have now set up a page on this blog called My Artwork Gallery to show some of my work. I love to see your comments on either my artwork or my cards so please feel free to leave any comments you may have and if anyone is interested in any of my artwork please feel free to contact me.
